RubyWorld Conference 2026 Prospectus

Welcome to the RubyWorld Conference. As in previous years, the conference will be held in Matsue, Shimane Prefecture. We cordially invite you to join us here. A technology conference shines brightest when people from different backgrounds come together to share ideas in person. Gathering in Matsue, often called the “mecca of Ruby,” will let you experience firsthand the Ruby community as it is today. We trust that the inspiration sparked by these conversations will help shape Ruby’s evolution in the years ahead.

Ruby comes with a solid reputation for reliability and stability. Around the world, it powers many services we simply cannot do without. At the same time, generative AI is beginning to change how programs are written and even what it means to be a developer. In a time when the act of writing code itself is being reexamined, Ruby may be exactly the kind of language the AI age needs: enjoyable to read, concise, and easy to work with. Its readability and simplicity should matter just as much whether the code is written by a person or by AI.

Ruby itself keeps evolving. Even today, countless updates go out every single day, with ideas and tweaks constantly flowing in so that Ruby keeps getting better. We hope this conference will give you a firsthand look at just how quickly AI is reshaping the world of Ruby programming. Rather than simply waiting for the future to unfold, the Ruby community is actively making it happen.

This year, we are honored to welcome Ms. Irina Nazarova, CEO of Evil Martians, as our keynote speaker. Evil Martians is one of the leading software consulting companies in the Ruby community, working with clients ranging from startups to well-established companies. As someone working at the leading edge of change, she is sure to share an inspiring view of where Ruby and its ecosystem are headed next.
