General outline of RubyWorld Conference 2026
1) Date
From December 3rd(Thu) to 4th(Fri) in 2026
2) Venue
International Conference Hall (3F) and Large Exhibition Hall (1F; two-thirds use), Shimane Prefectural Convention Center “Kunibiki Messe”
Application Guideline
1) Presentation
Presentation at the venue
2) Targeted applicants
Those who are able to deliver a presentation with content in accordance with one of the following themes.
The 5 themes for presenters
- Introducing the trend of cutting edge technology relating to Ruby
- Introducing examples of system development
- The introduction of Ruby examples from the user perspective
- Introducing the efforts to deal with Ruby as a public organization platform
- The introduction of education and study dealing with Ruby
* It will be referred to during the screening and selection (closed to the public) by the RubyWorld Conference Program Review Committee.
Technical fields
In the above recruitment area, we are hoping to see applications using Ruby in various technical fields and Ruby research contents as below.
- Web applications
- IoT(Edge computing, Sensor devices), Mechanical control
- Infrastructure
- Data analysis, Data utilization
* It will be referred to during the screening and selection (closed to the public) by the RubyWorld Conference Program Review Committee.
3) Time allocated per presentation
- 30-minute slot: 25 minute presentation with 5 minute Q&A
- 15-minute slot: 15-minute presentation with No Q&A
* Details such as the time will be announced after the selection.
* The delivery time of the presentation will be decided by the RubyWorld Conference Executive Committee.
* Presenter time slot preferences will be considered but are not guaranteed.
4) Quota for admission
- about 5 presenters for 30 minute slots
- about 5 presenters for 15 minute slots
* There is a possibility that it may change depending on the program and time allocation.

English or Japanese
6) How to apply
Please apply for the following contents from Google Form.
- Presentation theme (any one of the 5 themes)
- Presenter time slot preference 15 minutes or 30 minutes
- Title of presentation
- Name of the presenter with contact information
- Outline of the presentation
* If the applicant gave a similar presentation on the same subject they intend to present at RWC2026 they must also include a statement of where and when they gave the prior presentation.
* Descriptive abstract of the presentation (Documents can be attached if necessary)

7) Deadline for Application
August 14th, 2026 12:00 noon JST (Japan Standard Time, UTC+9)
8) Determination of presenters
Around early September, 2026
All who apply will be notified regardless if chosen to present or not.
9) Honorarium
If you are selected and give a presentation on the day, we will pay an honorarium.
- 30-minute slot: 30,000 yen (tax included) per person (group)
- 15-minute slot: 15,000 yen (tax included) per person (group)
10) Perks for presenters
- Contents of the presentations are to be posted on an official web site with the presenter’s agreement.
- Presenters are invited to attend both days of RubyWorld Conference 2026 free of charge.
- Invite to the Welcome Party presented by the RubyWorld Conference Executive Committee.
Date: December 2nd (Wed), 2026
Who: Yukihiro Matsumoto, keynote speakers and main RubyWorld Conference sponsors as well as all presenters. - Invite to the Reception Party on the first night of RubyWorld Conference 2026 (Thursday, December 3rd).
- There is a possibility that the contents will be changed or canceled.
- We will prepare free lunch boxes for both days.
More details will be provided after determining presenters.
11) Burden of expense
The expenses required for the application and the presentation (presentation material preparation fee, travel expenses to the venue, transportation expenses, etc.) will be borne by the applicant/presenter.
